A WOMAN who got a QR code tattooed on her arm says people call her mad until they scan it – and then they’re obsessed.
Sailor Jupiter, 25, has no regrets over her unusual inking, which plays an iconic song when scanned.
Sailor Jupiter has nearly 100 tattoos after getting ‘hooked’ when she was 18[/caption] The QR code plays Rick Astley’s iconic Never Gonna Give You Up hit[/caption]She has dubbed it the ultimate “Rickroll” as Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up blares out when the code is activated.
Rickrolling is a meme on social media, featuring the unexpected appearance of a music video for the 1987 hit.
When unsuspecting people are fooled into clicking on a link which leads them to the classic song – they’ve been ‘Rickrolled’.
Sailor, a content creator, told Plymouth Live: “My QR code is my top favourite. It gets asked about the most.
“In my friendship group we’d Rickroll each other. I wanted to top everyone. Random people ask if they can scan my arm.
“I get DJs to scan my arm in the club. Everybody is obsessed with it.”
The entertaining tattoo took a painstaking four hours to complete as every spot of ink had to be exact for the code to scan.
Sailor forked out £200 for the bizarre artwork – but claimed it’s totally worth it.
She said: “Most of the time somebody walking by goes ‘wow that’s so cool can I scan it?’ Then they burst out laughing when it plays.”
The Rick Astley tattoo is just one of 97 covering her body after she became “instantly hooked” when getting her first at 18.
They range from flowers to Freddie Mercury, and she even braved a face tattoo after spotting a coffee barista with the same one.
Sailor said: “I got a face tattoo after I met a girl at Starbucks with one and thought ‘wow that is beautiful’. I thought f**k it I’m going to do it.
“I absolutely love it.”
The 28-year-old views her tattoo collection as a “timeline” of her life – despite some people branding it “abnormal”.
“Who wants to be normal? Normal is boring. I’m going to have fun with life. I don’t want to live my life with any regrets,” added Sailor.
It comes as another man got a unique QR code tattooed on his arm – for a hilarious reason.
An absent-minded dad who kept forgetting his Tesco Clubcard has now got the QR code inked on him forever.
Dean Mayhew, 30, was sick of missing out on savings so spent four hours under the needle.
The scaffolder, a dad of seven, is also now debating whether or not to get his Sainsbury’s Nectar card code done too.
Dean, of Horsham, West Sussex, said: “Sometimes I’m not the cleverest of guys but my mates think it’s pretty genius. I’ve got seven kids and I’m in the supermarket all the time — probably three times a day.”
Meanwhile, one boyfriend was slammed after revealing the crazy tattoo he got for his girlfriend.
Plus, viewers were outraged when an obsessed fan had Shrek’s name tattooed on his forehead.
Brave young man Harry Brown made the bold move to permanently ink his face with the popular movie branding because “Shrek is love, Shrek is life”.
