The horrific ordeal allegedly happened outside Joseph Cash Primary School in Radford, Coventry at around 3.20pm on Thursday, March 7.

It all started when the mum-of-three, who wished to remain anonymous, went to drop her daughter off in the morning.

A bitter row was sparked when her friend told a man not to park on a drop kerb outside the school gates.

He allegedly launched an “aggressive” verbal attack but the group went their separate ways.

When the mum returned later for pick-up, she claimed the man was there again and threatened her with a hammer.

The traumatised parent told Coventry Live about the disturbing drop-off encounter.

She said: “He just started mouthing off and being really aggressive.

I cannot really go out of my house without my partner with me any more.

“He then started on me and drove off at speed, then he turned his car around and nearly hit me and my three week old while I was trying to put him in the car.”

Then, she recalled the alleged horror when he came back armed at pick-up.

“He decided that he was going to take it upon himself to get a knife and a hammer and he was threatening me, my partner and my three kids while nearly ploughing into another kid when he drove down at speed,” she claimed.

When the man allegedly threatened to kill her and the children, she scrambled to call the cops.

She claimed the hammer wielding man sped past them in his car to “intimidate” the petrified family.

The quick-thinking mum ended up “taking refuge” inside the school.

Since the alleged attack, the 31-year-old said: “I cannot really go out of my house without my partner with me any more.

“I do not feel safe.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after an incident in Owenford Road, Coventry on Thursday, March 8. A woman reported being threatened and verbally abused by a man shortly before 3pm.

“Officers are carrying out CCTV enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and anyone who saw what happened can contact us via Live Chat or 101 quoting crime number 20/240512/24.”
